HUNTER-JUMPER BARN ON CONSERVATION LAND
Otter Creek Farm is a hunter-jumper show barn situated in a tranquil 40-acre parcel of land, within a 250-acre conservation that borders Otter Creek and the Tar River in eastern North Carolina. The farm offers easy access from Greenville, Rocky Mount, and New Bern, and is just a short drive from East Carolina University. Our location is an hour east of Raleigh, with easy access to both Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and Pitt-Greenville Airport (PGV). Surrounded by mature woodlands and serene pastures, the property provides a peaceful, natural environment for both horses and riders.
The facility itself is meticulously designed to meet the needs of top-level equestrian training and competition. The 12-stall barn is spacious and well-ventilated, providing comfort and safety for horses. The grounds feature expansive pastures, including six large four-board fenced pastures with individual isles for safe horse movement. The farm also boasts a 250x300-foot riding ring, a small round pen, and an intricate network of bridle paths that wind through the property, offering a diverse training landscape. With a full-time staff that lives on the premises, Otter Creek Farm ensures that every horse receives the highest level of care and attention.

Each stall is generously sized, well-ventilated, and meticulously maintained to create a safe and serene environment. With ample room for grooming, tacking up, and storage, the barn ensures a seamless experience for both horse and rider.

TRAINING ARENA
The farm boasts a 250’ x 300’ training arena, expertly equipped with a full set of jumps. Designed for hunter-jumper training, the ring provides ample space for lessons, practice, and show preparation, with a carefully maintained footing to ensure safety and performance.

EXPANSIVE PASTURES
Horses thrive with room to roam, and our six large four-board pastures offer exactly that. Each pasture is separated by wide aisles to enhance safety and minimize stress, while run-in sheds provide shelter and comfort during turnout. The lush, well-maintained fields promote healthy grazing and natural movement, fostering the well-being of every horse. At Otter Creek Farm, we prioritize the health and well-being of our horses by providing 12 hours of daily pasture access—nighttime turnout during the summer and daytime turnout during the winter—with group or individual options tailored to each horse's needs and comfort. Horses have daily turnout with appropriate blanketing and/or fly sheets, with run-in sheds available in each pasture.
-
ROUND PEN
Perfect for groundwork, lunging, and focused training sessions, our round pen is an essential tool for developing young horses, refining skills, or building trust between horse and rider. Additionally, this portion of the facility is used for small, monitored turn-out for horses rehabbing from injury or adjusting to new surroundings.
-
SCENIC BRIDLE PATHS
Wind your way through the serene beauty of our property on extensive bridle paths. These trails are ideal for conditioning rides, leisurely hacks, or simply enjoying the natural surroundings of our conservation land.
